couldn’t resist those 16-patch blocks...
sorry, i forgot (2024-2025); quilting cotton
initially intended to be a gift for a friend, but i forgot about it for a year. machine quilted.
friendship cabin (2025); quilting cotton
based on a prompt from a friend: “a thing you love about your childhood self that you feel slightly distant from and maybe want to reconnect with”.
as a kid i used to love having people over and hosting movie nights with friends. things happened as i grew up, and i stopped wanting people in my house. to this day i’m still uncomfortable with having more than one person over at a time (my current record is 3 people). i don’t particularly miss hosting, but there’s a bit of melencholy thinking about how that changed. it’s okay, though-- i’d rather go to my friends’ houses to eat their food and fall asleep on their couches.
this is a log cabin block; i replaced the traditional center square (which represents the “hearth” of the home) with a friendship star. i fussycut the floral design to be the very center; i want there to be meaning in that, but maybe i just thought it was cute. machine quilted.
Kit block (2025); quilting cotton
practicing drafting my own blocks + yardage. hand quilted. based on a painting of Kit Kitterson from my comic, YINZ CITY.
futon quilt (2025); quilting cotton + bedsheet
Ruby Star Society layercake, thrifted sashing and backing, scrappy binding. machine quilted.
untitled (2024); quilting cotton
sewn for a class i took with Julie Zaichuk-Ryan at the local shop, Cut & Sew Studio. i don’t actually title my quilts for real, so maybe this is the most authentic presentation.
Buying Fabric Online at 3AM Cuz I’m Sad (2024); quilting cotton, mystery thrifted cotton
hand quilted. title says it all.
Zack’s Quilt (2023); quilting cotton; Broadcast pattern by Brigit Gail
i’m gonna say this straight and tell you right away that i was a fucking lunatic for attempting this one as a quilter who had never worked with this many curves.
made for my brother, who gave me free reign with no input whatsoever. colors as based on a Goosebumpbs comforter from the 90s.
COLUMBO (2022);
flannel, linen, cat hair
improv quilt that i only worked on while watching episodes of Columbo when my roommate was out of town.
PRODIGAL SON (2021); quilting cotton; Radiowaves pattern by Casey of Wellspring Designs
i love this pattern, but i fought with the colors for weeks and ended up frustrated with the final result. titled PRODIGAL SON because i put it aside for months after finishing it, and then ended up loving it when i rediscovered it.
FALLING LEAVES, alt title: CUTTING FABRIC FOR THIS PIECE OF SHIT TOOK TOO LONG (2021); quilting cotton
from a Robert Kaufman pattern. just because it says “beginner friendly” doesn’t mean you won’t have to cut out 600 1” wide strips of fabric.
LOVE U MOM (2020); bedsheets, fabric scraps
a patchwork quilt for my mama :)
